White ink works as an opacity layer behind CMYK. It can cover the full character, selected details, or be omitted where transparency is intentional. English artwork files should identify spot-white areas clearly instead of relying on a flattened preview.

Artwork setup: mirror the reverse print and separate spot white

For second-surface printing, the color art is mirrored so it reads correctly through the acrylic. Keep cut paths, CMYK, spot white and any varnish or protective layer separated and named. Confirm how much the supplier chokes or spreads the white layer, because a visible white halo can appear around fine edges.

Adhesion: define the test before you judge the result

Primer, plasma or other surface treatment may help some material-and-ink combinations, but no single pretreatment is automatically correct for every project. Align the sample material, cleaning method, curing condition, conditioning time and test method with the intended use before setting an acceptance rule.

What UV printing does—and what it does not specify

A UV flatbed printer jets ink onto the acrylic and cures it with UV light. Clear acrylic is non-absorbent, so dust, fingerprints, film residue, static, ink compatibility and surface preparation can influence the result. Ask the supplier to approve the complete material-and-print combination, not just the printer model.
