Short answer: approve the layer stack, not only “UV printing”
Choose the print stack from the viewing side and handling risk. Reverse or second-surface printing places mirrored color behind clear acrylic for a glossy front view; front-side printing exposes the ink and suits tactile or direct-surface effects but needs more abrasion consideration. Add a white-ink underbase only where opacity is required, then approve registration, transparency and adhesion on the actual production material before bulk.
UV printing describes how the ink is cured, not the full product specification. On clear acrylic, the viewing side, ink position and white-underbase coverage determine gloss, depth, transparency and handling exposure.
A purchase order should identify the print side, mirrored-artwork requirement, white coverage, any protective layer and the sample checks used for approval. UV curing by itself does not prove that a given ink will adhere equally well to every acrylic surface.

Front-side vs reverse (second-surface) print layers
Reverse printing uses mirrored color on the rear of clear acrylic, viewed through the sheet. Front-side printing places the color on the viewing surface. Both can use a white underbase, but the order and handling exposure differ.

White ink works as an opacity layer behind CMYK. It can cover the full character, selected details, or be omitted where transparency is intentional. English artwork files should identify spot-white areas clearly instead of relying on a flattened preview.

Artwork setup: mirror the reverse print and separate spot white
For second-surface printing, the color art is mirrored so it reads correctly through the acrylic. Keep cut paths, CMYK, spot white and any varnish or protective layer separated and named. Confirm how much the supplier chokes or spreads the white layer, because a visible white halo can appear around fine edges.
Adhesion: define the test before you judge the result
Primer, plasma or other surface treatment may help some material-and-ink combinations, but no single pretreatment is automatically correct for every project. Align the sample material, cleaning method, curing condition, conditioning time and test method with the intended use before setting an acceptance rule.

Lock the substrate
Use the intended acrylic type, thickness, finish and protective-film condition.
Control the surface
Avoid dust, fingerprints, oils and residues immediately before printing.
Qualify pretreatment
Use primer or another treatment only when compatibility testing supports it.
Approve the sample
Record how and when registration, rub resistance and adhesion are checked.

The acrylic sheet is positioned on the flatbed, color and white layers are printed in the specified sequence, and the sheet is checked for registration, white-edge visibility, pinholes, transparency and surface condition. What UV printing does—and what it does not specify
A UV flatbed printer jets ink onto the acrylic and cures it with UV light. Clear acrylic is non-absorbent, so dust, fingerprints, film residue, static, ink compatibility and surface preparation can influence the result. Ask the supplier to approve the complete material-and-print combination, not just the printer model.
