A PVC blind box figure is a small figure series packed in sealed boxes or inner bags so the buyer does not know which SKU is inside. This page focuses on the full OEM workflow: package design, insertion rules, SKU control, mix-up prevention, and shipment verification.

Sales planning
Define common, rare, secret, set, and campaign variants before production.
Production planning
Confirm sculpt, tooling, painting, assembly, base, and size differences per SKU.
Packaging planning
Align outer box, inner bag, OPP, card, leaflet, and carton labels with the project.
What to Decide for Random Insertion and SKU Control
Blind box projects depend on more than the figure design. You need to define how many SKUs exist, how many units are produced per SKU, how they are inserted, and how each carton is checked.
| SKU master | Character, color, expression, tooling difference, part difference, box artwork |
| Insertion ratio | Common, rare, secret, and set composition before packing |
| Packing check | Prevent mismatch between inner bag, outer box, carton, and packing list |
| Shipment unit | Carton labels for event venue, retail, warehouse, or campaign delivery |

How Are Secret and Rare SKUs Controlled?
When secret variants are included, the total quantity, insertion ratio, outer box artwork, shipment unit, and confidential handling range should be defined before production. Once the box is sealed, rechecking the inside becomes difficult, so the work instruction and packing checklist matter.
Which Packaging Details Should Be Fixed?
Plan more than the box. Inner bags, OPP, backing cards, leaflets, JAN position, carton labels, and retail display conditions reduce mistakes during event sales, retail delivery, and warehouse receiving.
- Blind box size and paper stock
- Foil bag, OPP, and tray options
- Backing card, leaflet, and warning display
- JAN, item number, and carton label
- SKU-separated or mixed-carton conditions

Production Flow and Approval Points

Project brief
Confirm characters, SKU count, sales format, quantity, and packaging conditions.
Sculpt and engineering
Review 3D sculpt, size, part split, base, and production-friendly details.
Sample approval
Approve gray model, painted sample, box sample, and inner-bag specification.
Production and packing
Produce by SKU, insert, seal boxes, and prepare carton labels.
Pre-shipment check
Verify quantity, SKU, ratio, outer box, and carton labels before shipment.
QC for Mix-Up Prevention
Random insertion needs more than appearance inspection. SKU sorting, quantity checks before box packing, carton label verification, facial paint zones, loose parts, and base stability should be defined according to the project risk.

Use Cases for Events, IP Goods, and Campaigns

Event sales
Useful for pre-release items, event-limited sales, and stock control at the venue.
Lottery campaigns
Secret SKUs and prize ranks require controlled insertion ratios.
Retail and e-commerce
Align box display, JAN, carton units, and sample sets for product photos.
Series expansion
Plan wave 1, wave 2, recolors, expression changes, and seasonal variants.
Quote Inputs Needed Before Production
A rough concept is enough for early consultation, but formal quotation needs size, color, SKU, quantity, and packaging conditions. We do not support unauthorized production of existing IP or unofficial goods.
- Front, side, and back character artwork
- Target size, base, material feel
- Total quantity, SKU count, quantity per SKU
- Common, rare, and secret insertion ratio
- Outer box, inner bag, JAN, carton rules
- Destination, schedule, and inspection needs

Confirm Safety, Secrecy, Decoration, and Tooling Before Production
Applicable toy-safety rules, secret-SKU controls, decoration methods, tooling, and order quantities depend on the intended age, market, design, and packaging. These are pre-quotation and pre-sample checkpoints, not blanket promises of certification, a specific material, or a fixed MOQ.
Safety Conditions for the Japanese Market
For toys intended for children under three that are manufactured or imported on or after December 25, 2025, the applicable Consumer Product Safety Act technical requirements, age and warning labels, and child PSC mark obligations must be reviewed. Designated toys may also be subject to chemical requirements under the Food Sanitation Act. Share the intended age, use, possible mouth contact, material specification, and sales channel so the project can define the relevant PSC, ST, and third-party test scope. Availability of test reports and material documents is confirmed before quotation.
Secret-SKU Control and Weight-Search Risk Reduction
Define access to secret-SKU information, ratio sheets, work instructions, sorting areas, packing records, and lot- or carton-level sampling before packing. Weight differences should be compared during sampling and package engineering. Inner bags, cards, cushioning, or a balancer may be evaluated when compatible with safety, labelling, and transport conditions. These measures reduce risk; they do not guarantee that external identification is impossible.
Pad Printing and Spray-Mask Approval
Pad printing is a candidate for eyes and fine lines, while spray masks or controlled hand spraying can be considered for color zones and gradients. Approve the decoration master or painted sample, color references, print position, boundaries, gloss, and tolerances before mass production, then inspect production units against the agreed checkpoints and approved sample.
Tooling Cost and MOQ Inputs
Injection-molded PVC figures require tooling. Tooling cost and MOQ vary with size, part count, mold split, cavities, shared parts, color and decoration steps, and packaging. For a six- to eight-SKU series, share the total quantity and per-SKU allocation for a project-specific quote after drawing or 3D-file review. A scenario such as 3,000 units per SKU or 18,000 units across six SKUs can be discussed for budgeting, but it is not a universal MOQ.

FAQ
What MOQ can you support for PVC blind box figures?
It depends on size, SKU count, tooling, and packaging scope. Share the total quantity and SKU count first.
Can the secret or rare insertion ratio be specified?
Yes. We confirm the ratio, carton unit, shipment unit, work instruction, and checking method before packing.
Can you make the outer box and inner bag together?
Yes. Outer boxes, foil bags, OPP, cards, leaflets, and carton labels can be planned together.
Can JAN, item number, and carton labels be managed?
Yes. We can confirm JAN placement, item number, SKU name, carton display, and packing-list checks.
Can this be made quickly for an event sale?
Schedule depends on specification, quantity, sample approval, and packaging scope. We check feasibility backward from your target sale date rather than promising a fixed public lead time.
Can I ask with only rough artwork?
Yes for early consultation. For formal quotation, size, colors, SKU count, and packaging conditions must be confirmed.
How is the insertion ratio verified after mass production?
Before packing, fix the SKU master, target ratio, case unit, and work instruction. Then compare packing records with lot- or carton-level sampling. Any required sampling method or acceptance rule should be agreed as a project condition.
Do single boxes, display cases, and master cartons need different barcodes?
It depends on the retailer and inventory system. Specify which level needs a JAN, item number, or logistics code for the single box, display or inner case, and master carton before packaging artwork approval.
